2022 Impact:

  • 1,600,000 people using an MSI-provided method of contraception
  • 442,000 clients served
  • 227,000 unsafe abortions averted

MSI Pakistan has delivered high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive healthcare to women throughout the country since 1992.

The security situation, large rural population, and regular natural disasters make providing contraception and other services in Pakistan particularly challenging. It is one of six countries that account for more than half of all maternal deaths worldwide, and 120 million Pakistani live in rural areas.

To meet the urgent need for services, MSI outreach teams travel to public health facilities in rural areas, bringing short-term and long-term contraceptive methods and providing lifesaving care after unsafe abortion. We also have a wide network of centers, including a maternal and child health center providing emergency obstetric care.
