MSI Ethiopia takes active role in Gize Gofa Woreda emergency response

Following the devastating mudslides that have claimed over 257 lives in Gize Woreda, Southern Ethiopia, MSI has swiftly mobilized an emergency response team to support the affected community.

​This area holds particular significance for MSI, as it is one of their key rural project sites where the team are deeply engaged in community support initiatives.

Recognizing the urgent need for comprehensive assistance, MSI has deployed a specialized team comprising of various medical professionals, experts in psychosocial support, and specialists in gender-based violence. These colleagues are on the ground to provide immediate aid and comfort to survivors, emphasizing both physical and psychological well-being during this challenging time.

The emergency response efforts are centered around delivering essential supplies directly to those in need, reinforcing local support systems, and collaborating closely with regional health authorities to ensure a coordinated and effective response. MSI Ethiopia remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the affected community.
