Sri Lanka

2022 Impact:

  • 88,000 people using an MSI-provided method of contraception
  • 23,000 clients served
  • 7,400 unsafe abortions averted

Since 1983, MSI has worked in partnership with Population Services Lanka to provide sexual and reproductive health services to the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people.

Our network of centers stretches across the islands, including in the conflict-affected north and east of the country. These centers lead the field in clinical quality, and serve as training centers for other health workers to learn about providing a full range of sexual and reproductive healthcare services.

Our social marketing program markets and distributes a wide range of contraceptive and sexual health products to pharmacies across the country. This innovative program provides half of the country’s short-term contraceptives!
