Since 2008, MSI Zambia has worked to expand access to high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive healthcare.
Our outreach teams travel to rural and hard-to-reach areas, delivering short-term, long-term and permanent methods of contraception, safe abortion care and care after unsafe abortion, and other sexual and reproductive healthcare services. Our services are particularly designed to reach those who have never used contraception before, those living in poverty, and adolescents.
Traveling to remote communities throughout the country isn’t always easy: The rainy season renders parts of the country inaccessible for some of the year, and outreach teams have to travel long distances to reach rural communities. Despite these challenges, our teams have increased access for women in Zambia, serving more than 350,000 women in 2021 alone.
